Often compared to the works of The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys, Costello is a raucous, high-energy debut from The Fratellis. The Scottish trio released the LP in 2006 and spawned two huge singles: “Flathead” and “Chelsea Dagger,” both of which feature infectious choruses along the lines of ba-da dop, doot-da-do doot… you already know. Firmly rooted in Brit rock w/ a keen sense for sing-along melodies and witty lyrics, The Fratellis delivered a very enjoyable 13-tracker (Apple picked “Flathead” for an iPod TV spot), and beyond the obvious chart toppers, check out “The Gutterati,” “Vince the Loveable Stoner,” and “Henrietta.”
