Spaced out obscure cuts compiled by Psychemagik’s Danny McLewin! Ritual Chants – Love is the first installment in the vinyl edition of Ritual Chants compilation. Made up of tracks collected while touring the world, the disparate source material is expertly put together. Man Parrish’s “Water Sports” is an uncharacteristically ambient journey that flows seamlessly into the psychedelic stylings of German library band The Rias Orchestra. Jeanette’s “L’Amour Joue Au Violon” pairs sultry strings with seductive vocals recalling Melody Nelson era Serge Gainsbourg. And there are plenty more slow-motion heaters to be found. Kudos to McLewin for continuing Psychemagik’s longstanding run of exceptional compilations. Fifteen tracks in all. Released by Eskimo Recordings on double vinyl housed in a full color sleeve.
