Man Friday was a group in the 80’s consisting of Brodie Williams on production, Kofi Morny on vocals, and the legendary Larry Levan on mixdowns. They had a few notable releases in their day, but “Love Honey, Love Heartache”is definitely the stand-out. The track grooves on a rhythm very similar to Funk Master’s 1981 jam “Love Money” with a mean synth bass line, tough drums, and Kofi’s stellar vocals all dubbed out and mixed in classic Garage style by Levan. Here we have a super high quality reissue that look just like original 1986 copies on Vinyl Mania with fancy obi strip courtesy of Get On Down. Includes the original vocal version, instrumental and acapella. Recommended.
