Mellow Mellow Right On striking a chord with the Lab heads with a sweet edit of Tatsuro Yamashita’s “Love Talkin.” You might recognize Tatsuro’s name from the Dusty Fingers classic “Dancer,” but a little bit of digging will reveal his catalog is chock full of gems. “Love Talkin” is one of them, a feel-good piece of breezy dancefloor boogie with hints of AOR/city-pop vibes breezing through the grooves. MMRO’s edit is super respectful to the original, simply cutting out the solo for maximum grooving. On the flip, Luther Vandross’ “She’s A Super Lady” gets edited into a secret weapon to burn up the dance floor. Orange vinyl version, recommended.
