Dan Snaith, the Canadian musician and producer behind Manitoba, Caribou, Daphni and the Jiaolong label, has been turning out a wide array of music for the better part of this century. He returns to Jiaolong, for the first time as Caribou, to drop this nearly irresistible extended version of “Can’t Do Without You.” It starts off as a quiet mix of synth pads, drums and bass before introducing the positive vocal refrain. It all builds from there, slowly swelling in size and intensity. You’ll have to hold on for that hands in the air moment, but it’s well worth the ride. Limited edition single sided vinyl pressing.
