Oh, man. Blood Sister’s take on Anita Ward’s classic “Ring My Bell” is so good, and in addition to the irie, breezy vibez, love the fact that the high-pitched tom tone is left intact. We can already people rushing the booth when playing this one out. But that’s not all, flip the 7″ over, and the dub version of “Promised Land” by Nairobi Sisters impresses once again. In addition to the ill bassline and the break-beat rhythms, it’s important to note that A Tribe Called Quest sampled the song for “Whatevea Will Be” on the group’s latest album, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.
